Dragon Rulers Deck List Profile Patrik Rieder YCS London 2013 Winner

Dragon Rulers YCS London YugiOh Card GameIs anyone really surprised about the Dragon Ruler Deck winning? Yeah, me either. It reminds me of a couple of formats ago with wind ups. It gets hit with the ban list and still fines a way to stay strong. Let’s see what happens comes January.

Congrats to 1st time YCS winner, Patrik Rider for his dominating a field of over 800+ people with his agressive and dominating deck. He had an epic battle in the finals against Dragon Ruler. Being able to make it to the finals in a format that had so many mirror matches in the top 32 shows that Patrik is a very talented and skilled player.

Well this is the first time I was able to how amazing Sixth Sense is. Since I have not been able to get my hand on it yet, I have not been able to see first hand how this card interacts with the Dragon Ruler Deck. It’s so good that Patick and his finals opponent, Alpay Engin, agreeded to take it out of their decks during games 2 and 3. So that just out right tells you this card is boss!!!

What was interesting about his build was he just ran 1 Card Trooper instead of the customary 2. He said, “it’s good at just 1. No need for 2.” I guess he was right. especially since Card Trooper is not as good against the mirror. Ever got your Card Trooper attacked into with a Crimson Blader?

What I did like about his side deck was triple, yes 3 Debunk. This card is amazing in the mirror match. They activate any of the dragons effect to special summon from the hand or grave and Debunk just negated the summom and banished it. And since the dragon activated one of its effects, the banish effect can not activate. If the format stays with dragons, which I’m sure it will, I can see having 3 Debunk in the side a common thing.

I have been playing the Patrick Hoban dragunity version and have been topping at my locals. But looking at this deck, I’m considering trying this one out this weekend. I’ll let you know how it does for me. Also How do you feel about Dragon Rulers wining again? Leave your comments below.
