Jack Bruun Macro Rabbit Deck List Review Winner 2012 YCS Barcelona

Evolzar Laggia YuGiOh Card GameI’m loving this format. Each YCS we have seen so far has a new championship deck. We have just witnessed the rise of an old champion, with a few new main deck cards, That champion deck is Macro Rabbit. This deck has been getting some play in the top spots of previous YCS’s and it finally got the main spot by winning this YCS!

Congrats to 1st time YCS winner, Jack Bruun, for his dominating a field of over 700+ people with his agressive and dominating deck. He had an epic battle in the finals against Mermails Atlantean. Being able to make it to the finals in a format that had so many different decks in the top 32, and beating able to beat many of our U.S. established players, shows that Jack is a very talented and skilled player.

I was not reallly surprised to see this deck topping. It has a great match-up against many of the top decks in this format. The main deck Macro Cosmos hurts the new deck on the block, Atlantean, along with many of other decks, Inzektors, Wind-Ups and Chaos Dragons. So it seems it was a good meta call to play since alot of the current top deck can’t deal with it game 1.

I feel rabbit decks were not a lost cause due to them losing 2 of their main pieces, 1 Rescue Rabbit and 1 Tour Guide From the Underworld. it still has access to 2 of the best XYZ monsters, Evolzar Laggia and Evolzar Dolkka. Losing one of each of it’s set up peices did make it a bit harder to get it in the opening hand. But it still on occation can get it in your hand. I heard being able to plop down Evolzar Laggia and some back rows is good.

Jack’s version was very similar to Joe Giorlando’s version that topped in YCS Seattle. He just made some minor and major changes. He added a teched, Neo-Spacian Grand Mole. Which gave him a way to get those Wind-Up Zenmaines off the field or any other XYZ, Synchro monster. He also went with playing Fiendish Chain over the somewhat standard Compulsory Evacuation Device.
