As we all know PRIORITY, the ability to activate ignition effects without the opponent responding to the summon, is now gone. With that information in hand many anticipated the Inzektor deck to rise from the top 3 decks and take the number 1 spot. Unfortionatley that did not happen in YCS Chicago.
Congrats to 2 time YCS winner, Billy Brake, for his dominating a field of over 1,100 people and taking 3rd place with his main and side deck tech choices. He was able to take the deck to a higher level than anyone has been able to before. What is even more amazing is that he picked up the deck only a couple of days before the event due to his customary deck, Wind-UpToys, got hit hard with the new priority ruling. This just shows you what great skillful player he is.
With priority now gone he ran the max number Effect Veilers. Doing this now allowed him to have a better chance of beating the dino rabbit deck and the mirror match. This also allowed him to play on of the best top deck cards in the game, READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>
So priority is no longer in the TCG. We all have said bye-bye to priority. Know we have to move on and use this to our advantage.
I recently read and article by Patrick Hoban on ARG articles and he discusses some cards that have gotten better with no priority. I have added some additional cards I feel he missed with an explination on why it got better. Here is part of Patrick’s article:
Cards That Got Better
There are a list of cards that got better because of this rule change. They are now more effective against the top tier decks than they were before the rule change.
Effect Veiler – This should have been the first card to pop into your mind when you heard about the rule change. This card clearly got better than it ever has been before. Previously, Effect Veiler did almost nothing to READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>
It finally has happened. There is no more priority in the TCG. Konami recently made an announcement on their strategy site discussing they have added a new rules section to the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game web site. Below is the announcement from their site.
The Advanced Rules Information section is accessible by clicking GAMEPLAY on the left-hand side, or from the GAMEPLAY drop-down menu.
Our first two items are already posted there, and over coming weeks and months we will be adding more information to help clear up some of the questions you might have about how the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG works.
Fast Effect Timing is a detailed guide to show you which player has the next opportunity to activate a fast effect (meaning a Quick-Play Spell, Quick Effect, Trap Card, or Trap Card effect). This can get a little tricky sometimes, but how this is handled can have a big impact on the outcome of your Duels. So please study it carefully! In addition to clearing up a lot of questions, the Fast Effect timing guide & chart will change how you play the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>
Hey everyone! This weeks video of the week is a really good one. It will explain key plays you can do and look out for when you are playing or playing against a hero deck. Did you now you can activate monster effects while Skill Drain is on the field?
If you are playing a hero deck, this video will show you different plays you can do to take full advantage of your cards. If you are not playing a heros deck, this will help you be aware of plays your hero opponent may be trying to do. I found out how Elemental HERO The Shining can miss timing of returning the removed from play monsters to the hand.
So go check out the video and make sure you don’t say, “Can you really do that?” READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>
